Even today, the Xbox 360 controller is still fondly remembered by many. How about a controller that accurately mimics its best features and works with modern Xbox consoles and PCs? That’s exactly what Hyperkin is working on.
The Hyperkin Xenon is an officially licensed imitation of the Xbox 360 controller that is made to work with modern Xbox consoles, such as the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X, as well as modern PCs running Windows 10 and Windows 11. shtick is that it looks and feels like a 2005 Xbox controller, except today.
A few buttons have been changed to match the modern functionality of Xbox controllers, including a Share button, as well as the addition of a headphone jack and a USB-C port. But the controller itself should be virtually identical to the Xbox 360 controller. It has the same silhouette and general button configuration, and even the same aesthetic. The only catch is that you have to use it wired, but other than that, this is a perfect controller for anyone looking for a wild flashback.
If you want it, it’ll be available early next year, but there’s no pre-order or store page just yet. In the meantime, there are plenty of other PC gaming controller options, many of which also work with Xbox gaming consoles.
