  • pie crust: If you want to make this pie absolutely delicious, try my grandma’s perfect pie crust recipe!
  • pecans: This gives a delicious crunch to the pie filling.
  • Eggs: I always use large eggs when I cook.
  • Brown sugar: Using brown sugar adds a deep, sweet flavor to the base of this pie.
  • corn syrup: This makes the cake sweeter!
  • Oatmeal: This is where this oatmeal pie gets interesting! It adds a delicious texture to match the pecans.
  • Butter: For this oatmeal pecan pie I used unsalted butter.
  • Salty: The salt will enhance all the flavors in this recipe.
  • Cinnamon: A touch of cinnamon complements all the ingredients.
  • Vanilla: I always like to add a splash of vanilla flavor when I’m baking.

  1. Preparation: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Combine and pour: Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Stir until well combined. Pour the filling into the crust.
  3. Bake and serve: Bake for 50 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and additional pecans if desired.

What if my cake is runny?

If you pull out your oatmeal pecan pie and the filling still hasn’t set and it’s runny, it still needs to bake! Add 5 minutes of extra cooking time at a time and keep an eye on it. You should be able to run a knife through the pie without any filling spilling out.

Save leftover cake

If you’re lucky enough to have leftovers from this oatmeal pecan pie, you’ll be glad to know it stores beautifully!

In the fridge: Once your cake has cooled completely, you can put it in a airtight container. Keep it in the fridge and it will last about 3-4 days!
