If you’ve been to Kitchn’s website, you know that we cherish our love for Stanley Tucci terribly seriously. Although I’m sure everyone on the team wish they could actually Being BFFs with Stanley himself, there’s only one person who really is: ME. Or at least I had the feeling that I was earlier this year when we created a drink together on the spot. Was it all on my mind? Maybe, but I’m totally okay with that, because that’s when I discovered we have a lot more in common than I thought.

Aside from our love of always having a good sip on hand, we also share a love of good food — and yes, that includes pasta. So when I heard that the Inside man star released his own pasta recipe kit in collaboration with S.Pellegrino, I knew it was my time to shine.

What’s in the Taste of Tucci recipe kit?

To be quite honest, I was both surprised and excited to hear about the new recipe kit. While I think it’s definitely a good idea for the actor and author to have his own recipe pack, it still surprised me because I wasn’t sure what to expect as a partnership with S.Pellegrino. However, the result was a tasty and (what I suppose to be) an authentic Italian pasta experience that I wouldn’t mind making again.

The recipe for Stanley’s Gnocchetti Con Salsiccia E Broccolini was easy to follow because the kit contained everything I needed, with the exception of utensils — such as measuring cups, knives, cutting boards — and both salt and pepper. The kit, which was also in partnership with World Chef, gave me step-by-step instructions on how to use the pre-portioned and packaged ingredients, but in case you get a little nervous about getting it done like a pro, it also contained a QR code that takes you directly to a step-by-step video on how to prepare the meal. Useful? I think so!

How do you make Stanley Tucci’s Sausage and Broccoli Gnocchetti?

In total, the cooking instructions say there are 13 steps to make this delicious recipe. And since everything is already pre-portioned and labeled, all you need to do is cut open your packs and follow each step in the order they’re given. Since the kit also comes with two bottles of S.Pellegrino, make sure they are chilled before starting the cooking process so you can enjoy them with your meal.

My honest opinion on Stanley Tucci’s Sausage and Broccoli Gnocchetti

Since this was a kit that literally contained everything I needed, it was a very easy and foolproof dinner to make. The portions for each of the ingredients were perfectly measured and I didn’t feel like I had to search chaotically for something because not enough was given.

That said, I have to say there wasn’t much flavor – not even with the included pepperoncini, garlic, and fennel. Initially, the mixture gave off a very fragrant scent that tickled my palate, but once everything was added, I felt like that scent didn’t quite match what I expected to taste. The solution? By adding my own spices to get the flavor I was looking for. However, I don’t think this will be a problem for everyone; it all comes down to the preference of your taste buds. I also suggest pairing with the bread of your choice, because who doesn’t love bread?!

But overall, I really enjoyed this recipe and wouldn’t mind seeing a complete line of Italian-inspired meal kits from Stanley in the future. This was probably one of the easiest meals to make and it was perfect for a low-lift mid-week dinner. It took about 30 minutes to make and makes a total of 4-6 servings – which is more than enough for my small household of two.
